Witcombe Festival is an annual music festival held in Brockworth in Gloucestershire over the August Bank Holiday weekend. The three-day festival consists of four stages and has been headlined by; Basement Jaxx, Tinie Tempah, John Newman, Annie Mac, Dizzie Rascal, Plan B, Sigma, Ella Eyre, Example, Wiley, Heather Small, Lethal Bizzle, Titchy Styder, Sean Paul, Criag David and Rudimental.
HFLbroadband worked closely with the organisers to ensure ultra-fast WiFi was available at every bar and for the organisers to manage the event throughout. We used a mix of local fibre connectivity, CAT6 and WiFi 6 high-speed access points to keep the bars connected for the 100,000+ transactions throughout. With 25,000+ people visiting over the weekend connectivity was key for the event to be a success (Nobody wants to attend a festival where the bars are down as they have no internet to take payments!) For the WAN we used a main high-speed fibre delivered to the site via Gigaclear, and a mix of all available mobile networks as backup connecting to various mobile masts with a high-specification firewall to manage these connections and failover if required.
